Vin Smith's extraordinary Vindid single seater used the same chassis and suspension as his front-engine Alpha. He moved the engine and gearbox as far back as possible (right back to the de Dion rear suspension), put a seat where the engine used to be, and made a new body. He ran it for the 1962 season before building the more conventional rear engined Sevin from scratch. The car is shown here at the 1962 State Championships. (Pic: Milton McCutcheon)
